Product turns on and appears to function well. It displays depth and shows fish that may or may not be there.The biggest down side to this item is it is not even water resistant, let alone proof. Considering it is primarily used in or at the water this is a poor design oversight. The next problem is that it is an enormous battery appetite. Bring extra high quality batteries if you want to use this for a single day of fishing. I have used this several times, and another thing is I have never caught a fish while using it. the emissions may actually scare the fish away. This device will also pick up oar strokes as fish. It apparently reads the disturbed water as a fish. I have no evidence to suggest this device works, is accurate, or is helpful. The price is OK though.
