Singer-songwriter Beth Hart returns with LEAVE THE LIGHT ON, her 3rd and finest album yet. If you love Sheryl Crow, Liz Phair, Jewel and Shelby Lynne you'll dig Beth Hart.

Honest, soul-baring blues rock - and she can really belt it out!
Awesome album. Beth Hart can really rock!I've always had a soft spot for singer-songwriters who aren't afraid to bare their souls. Like her, I had a rough start in life and struggled to deal with it all. I definitely identify with the pain she sings about in "Leave the light on." But, like her, I've made it through the darkness and now can see the light.I'm only sorry I've discovered her music so late in my life - I could have enjoyed her music and honesty for so many more years! I've now bought all of her albums, and you can't go wrong with any of her albums. "Leave the light on" is definitely my favorite from this album, but "Bottle of Jesus" and "Broken and Ugly" are just as great. There definitely isn't any weak songs in this album. If you like the Blues genre, then this artist should definitely be part of your collection. She rocks, and she's not afraid to be honest.

Incredible album.
This is an amazing album. I've had it for over a year and the more I listen to it the more I love it. There is nothing superficial about it. There are layers and layers of meaning and emotion here, as well as brutal honesty.Beth is the best rock/blues singer ever and she is a great songwriter. Every album she does is better than the last. There is so much emotion in this cd that no matter how many times I hear it I find my eyes watering when I least expect it.This is the type of album that unfortunately only comes out of a painful experience or a series of painful experiences (abusive relationships, abandonment, self abuse, alcohol, drugs). Out of those experiences something astonishing is created. Despite the pain and heartbreak and shame Beth chooses hope and faith. This is a very cohesive album with a central theme of someone struggling yet determined to break the unhealthy cycles and start over again. She takes the lessons learned and moves forward to a better, healthier place and embraces life and all it has to offer.

Great, gutsy singing
Beth Hart is a new-to-me talent, with a great voice that sounds like she gargles gravel, a fine bunch of songs, and a terrific band. I listen to this fairly frequently, and I have so much music that it's unusual for me to return to one artist this often, and especially one who's new to my ears.

I wanted to Know Beth Hart
The 1st time I heard Beth Hart singing was on youtube. She was telling the story before she sung You Belong to Me. I could not imagine the depths of her pain, or why she sung the way she did until I hard the full version of this song. An amazingly, strong woman who overcame such terrible loss, such personal devastation and it all comes out in her music. Beth is not a household name, but the ones who know her and her music adore her. A deeply intense voice, a sou;fu; singer with so much to give. I am so glad that I found music. Just wonderful!

Guts, Soul, and PURE GENIUS!
In the vast wasteland what is now known as the TOP 40, where is this VOICE? Beth Hart is one of the most understated voices in a lost genre.Every track of this brilliant album reflects Hart's dedication to treat each song as a piece of artwork. This album is Hart's most consistent to date. The title track "Leave the Light On" has shades of "The L.A. Song" from Hart's last effort "Screamin' For My Supper." The rest of this album stands on it's own."Lift's You Up", "Bottle of Jesus", "World Without You" are great, edgy numbers displaying Hart's vocal prowess. This album produces some awesome power ballads. Besides the title track, "I'll Stay With You" is a song that will hang in your head and heart after listening proving Hart can take it down a notch and never lose that touch of soul that graces each song of this AMAZING CD.Well worth a listen, if Hart does not touch you with one song from this album, I would question if the listener has a soul.

Album Culte

All of struggles - put to music! It'll make you cry, but it's beautiful!
This is a fantastic album - but be prepared: much of it is the heart's cry of a person in pain. She beautifully articulates the struggles of life - and her singing is out of this world! Her newer stuff is smoother, but this is so worth the money!

Wer auf rockig steht, sollte "Broken and Ugly" oder "Money Back" anspielen.
