Love IT--So precise and works great and quickly after prolonged first priming
I have a stick on "chalk board" on my black refrigerator where I write my grocery list when I run out of things. I had been trying to use old fashioned chalk but it wasn't working well at all. Seems they don't make chalk like I remember from school. Maybe it is my "board" maybe it is the chalk? Thought I would try the Liquid Chalk and it is AMAZING. After the first prolonged "priming" which had me worried at first, it is right there ready for you to use. The writing is clear and clean and I can get so many more items on my little board than before AND without the frustration of trying to make the regular chalk write. It removes completely and easily with a slightly damp cloth, sponge or paper towel. My one caution: the first time, after vigorously shaking, you GENTLY but PERSISTENTLY prime the marker by pressing the tip on a hard surface until the liquid flows. Don't press too hard as the directions warn or you can damage the tip. And don't give up because it took me longer than I expected like a couple of minutes. I was concerned it would take this long EVERY TIME I wanted to make a note but that isn't the case. Once primed it is quick to offer up its juice so I can quickly jot my list and To Do notes. You will like this product as long as your surface is non porous. It would be perfect for the chalk board labels for jars and canisters too as it won't come off until you take it off.

Excellent markers for large projects
I do wedding calligraphy and recently used these markers for two large window pane menus. They worked perfectly and the final product turned out amazing! The bride and groom were ecstatic with the results. I've also had great luck with these markers making place cards on large philodendron leaves and they worked great. That being said the tip on these markers is quite large (4mm) and is best suited for large scale projects, which is what I needed them for - each window pane stood about 4ft tall. If looking for a marker for small labels or smaller detail projects I would suggest a much smaller size, around 1mm or so.It is also very important to prime these markers correctly and to re-prime as working so that the ink does not dry and begin writing in a thin transparent color. However if you follow the instructions they work beautifully! Also note the manufacture warning against using them on porous surfaces. I tried them out on a chalkboard I made myself using chalkboard paint and an old piece of framed art and it stained my board so that it now has to be repainted. This was of course my fault because they explicitly state not to use them for porous surfaces.

Works fine, some caveats
I bought these to use on chalkboard contact paper (vinyl), and they work great for that. I also tested them on a tin covered with acrylic chalkboard paint and they worked fine there, too. Out of curiosity I tried one on a varnished wood surface, and that also wiped clean with just a damp cloth, as did a smooth-faced rock I found in my backyard. I suspect they would work fine on natural slate, but alas, I don't own any. I also imagine that if you have a porous material (like a tree cookie, or papier-mâché box, etc.) and you use MANY layers of acrylic chalkboard paint OR primed/sealed and then added the recommended coats of chalkboard paint, and then primed the board with regular chalk, that would probably work. They have a cartridge inside and liquid ink, similar to a paint pen.Pros:-- clear, BRIGHT marks!-- price is good-- easy to use-- more professional-looking and easier to read than regular chalk-- totally dustless!Cons:-- ink takes several seconds to dry-- tips are pretty chubby (comparable to a child's washable marker-- I had hoped for something more like a Sharpie)-- tips tend to distort/fray with use, which detracts from the polished appearance (my writing was already looking pretty shaggy by the time I finished my first project)-- makes quite a mess when wiping off/erasing (I don't recommend using disposable napkins or paper towels-- use something sturdy and washable like a cloth napkin or a kitchen towel and be prepared for white fingertips)

Love them!!
There is a bit of a trick to getting the pens working the first time around. It involves shaking them and pressing them gently to get the liquid chalk flowing. I could never get the first pen in the set working, but the second one seem born to make beautiful chalk designs. It glides on so easily.I use these pens on chalkboard labels that I put on tupperware as well as DIY chalkboard paint on herb-pots in my kitchen window. It looks fantastic... I may have to upload a photo in the near future.... and I definitely need to find more things around my house that would benefit from chalkboard paint/labels.The instructions recommend a damp cloth to clean the liquid chalk off... and I've experience both the damp cloth as well as accidental smudging with my fingers. Both works on these as well as they work on real chalk. In regards to the first pen that I couldn't get working, I let the company (PrecisionKitchenware) know and they're sending a replacement for free. I definitely appreciate that they're taking customer satisfaction seriously and would happily give them 5-stars as well.I have only used them on black labels and black chalkboard paint. I have not tried them on colored chalkboard/chalkboard-paint... but I believe they'd show up as well as you'd expect white on color... it's going to stand out well on darker shades, but be hard to see on light backgrounds.

Best Quality
I have bought the chalk marker a couple of times. I use the markers everyday as I am partially sighted. The white marker on black paper is a great contrast and a good size. There is no mess or spillage that you can get from some other markers. I have reminder notes all over the place now that I can write in big print.

Brilliant pens..added bonus was an email from supplier with a warning not to be used on porous surfaces. Did a test run..all good.

Great product
The product is great - give it a bit of a shake and off you go. A lovely bright white which once dry does not smudge at all or leave a chalky residue. The customer service team are also very helpful and resolve any queries you may have very effectively.

These are permanent on some surfaces
I have had to order a tub of black-board paint to cover up the drawings left by these pens. They are OK for drawing on windows (except they run a lot - especially coloured ones, which I also have a set of)Drawings of santa's sleigh and a reindeer are now permanently embedded into the black board in the kitchen until I paint over them! No amount of washing with water or soap would remove an orange reindeer, or his red nose or antlers!Don't buy these unless you have a very shiny surface to write on (like a white-board or glass). Otherwise they are indelible, getting into the pores of the board.I am now off to paint over the black board on my nice new, home made, oak framed notice board - which used to look lovely!I will be returning these - not suitable for my black board.
