Possible fix for the random disconnects and reconnects(update: could be the included garbage cable)
Possible fix for the random disconnects and reconnects: I noticed it was really rattling inside the case, it doesn't look like the PCB board touches the metal but it still rattles around. I took electrical tape and cut it into thin strips and where the PCB slides into the case I put a two strips on the top and one on the bottom and it doesn't rattle anymore. I use it for a week and if it works I'll update and post pictures. If it doesn't it is getting one star and being sent back.UPDATE: So I switched out the cable and that solved the problem. I actually used it with the cable before my mod, when it was disconnecting then modded it then used it with a higher quality cable, so I don't know if it was the cable or the mod. I like the mod I did, it just doesn't rattle anymore. I'm getting another one in a few weeks and doing the exact same thing I did here and I'll try it with out the mod.If nothing else THROW AWAY THE GARBAGE CABLE IT COMES WITH!!!! Looking at it now I notice how thin and cheaply it was made. It is great it is so short but yeah, quality is terrible. The people who make this shouldn't even include a cable, who doesn't have a USB 3 cable now-a-days?

Inoperable After One Day of Use!
Initially this DEGOL M.2 drive enclosure worked and thankfully it worked long enough to clone my system to a new SSD. However, the very next day it was inoperable because it constantly mounts and unmounts--rendering it completely useless. I have reformatted the drive in both Windows 10 and Linux. When I insert it into Linux it causes the system to freeze up where Windows 10 will rapidly cycle between mounts and unmounts. I would not recommend this product which is unfortunate because the build quality is really good.Update 12/2/2016:DEGOL has contacted me, within 24 hours, about my problems with this device. I will update with whatever action they take to solve this problem.

Excellent - works as advertised. Good build quality. Great for Cloning M.2 NGFF SSDs.
Works as advertised out of the box. Used this to clone my 128GB SSD to a larger 512GB SSD, both M.2 'NGFF' form factor, both Transcend. Tried ZTC brand but DEGOL is far and away a better product - better built, and easier to insert and remove SSD module.HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT.Unrelated to this product but as useful information for potential buyers - can't say enough good on Acronis TrueImage software which is what I used to do the cloning. Acronis has worked every time for me without fail. Connected new SSD to USB port on machine with drive to be cloned using this adapter, launched Acronis, selected USB SSD as 'Target' or 'Destination' for cloning. For my 128GB SSD the whole operation took less than 15 minutes on an i5 machine! The speed surprised me and I had to double check to make sure Acronis indeed completed the cloning process. After cloning, removed the 128GB SSD and installed the new 512GB SSD...and whoa-la, I now have the much needed extra drive space on my machine.

Sturdy construction, good transfer speeds, and rather self-explanatory
I'm not quite sure what these other reviewers are talking about here, but I received this product today with the intent of backing up my SSD. My main laptop decided to stop functioning normally, so I needed a way to backup its SSD. I came across this adapter, and I have no problems with it so far.I will start out by saying that this isn't compatible with M-key SSDs. It will only work with B-keys, so if your SSD has both a B and an M key, it'll work just fine. My Sandisk X400 Solid State Drive - Internal (SD8SN8U-512G-1122) functions perfectly in this product. Now, what documentation do you need? It's a simple unscrew two screws in the front, slide out the PCB, (optionally) unscrew a rivet that'll hold your SSD down, insert your SSD, screw the rivet back in, and you're good to go. It took me two seconds to figure that out. Furthermore, I've had no problems with unscrewing any screws, but perhaps they addressed this issue after some other reviewers complained about it. I will say that the provided screwdriver is a nice touch, but I opted to use my much bigger screwdriver that provided more torque. Also, you don't need to unscrew the two screws next to the USB port. Like I said, only the two screws on the side opposite that need removing. As far as performance goes, it works probably as well as a flash drive. I have it plugged into a USB 3.0 port, and it performs on par (maybe a slight bit faster) than my USB 3.0 flash drive. It averaged around 150 MB/s depending on how large the file was. I only need this for a drive backup, so it's not like I'm going to be using it every day. I'll probably just let this thing collect dust until I need to use it again, but I hope that won't happen.I was actually surprised that this arrived with full aluminum construction. I was expecting it to be made of plastic, but even the front plates that you screw off are made of aluminum. It's very sturdy construction, and it'll likely survive many drops if you tend to let gravity boss you around. It also includes a blue indicator LED on the front; if the drive is being accessed it blinks, otherwise it'll stay solid blue.I was considering adding pictures like I usually do to my reviews, but another reviewer has already provided solid pictures of this product.I'm happy with this purchase, especially considering similar products in the sub-$40 price range; this one gets the job done, and it's much cheaper. I paid full price for this (no discounts for reviews or anything like that), and I'm not regretting this purchase at all. If you need to backup a B-keyed SSD for whatever reason, and your main system can't do it, this will work for you.

Pretty nice little box .
Pretty nice little box . I wish they would recess the plug on devices so they wouldn't be so susceptible to breaking at the plug .So if you are going to be moving this around DON'T ! Just kidding . Just be careful . Just about every electronic computer device has these flimsy plugs . The screws are very small also easy to drop and lose . The only major issue I had was that I tend to throw static sparks off the tips of my fingers and one zapped the exposed metal edge on this SSD box . Which shut the drive down while it was transferring files . Amazingly no data was lost . As soon as it restarted it just completed the task . The box gets pretty hot . I've seen one other brand that has holes cut into the side for venting . Of course that would introduce dust and lint . Possibly worse like water ! So maybe that's not that great of an idea . Your speed is not going to be as good if the same drive was installed internally . But it's faster than a HDD USB 3 speed .Not tested the speeds to test that theory though . Just going by what it seems to be . It's going to be way slower than advertised speed they always are . Because they go by theoretical speed instead of actual usage speed .
