I bought this for a historical Spanish dessert beverage called Horchata de Chufa. It was very delicious. The nuts chewed by themselves are not very filling, but are delicious like a mild almond flavor with a hint of potato. I can’t confirm how many oxalates are in them if you’re trying to avoid them causing kidney stones, and joint pain. But, since these are technically in the tuber family like potatoes, they’re probably lower in them, and better for you as a nut substitute.

Great price, tastes great. IMPORTANT to soak them in water for a few hours or it will crack your crowns and fillings in your teeth. Tiger Nuts are NOT NUTS. They are prehistoric paleo version of the precursor of yams, sweet potatoes, etc It is very sweet and tasty. Nutrient dense, high fiber and a little bit of protein and several other nutrients. Great price and a good value.

Have had tiger nuts from another source that generally sell for about a dollar an ounce. Thought I’d try these since the price was about 75 cents/ounce. I tried a few and was very disappointed. As the photo shows from just a handful many are so shriveled and have actual bug holes in them. These nuts are a much darker color than what I’ve seen from other companies, are old, very dry, some are bitter and extremely fibrous. . . So much so, that small pieces of fibrous pulp similar to landscape mulch cannot be chewed up and must be swallowed or discarded. I would not recommend this brand and plan to feed the birds with all that remains. I’d prefer a zero rating but a “one” is the lowest option.

This is the 2nd time I ordered from this company. The first time I ordered was last month and they were great, although I did have to remove a few bad nuts, but overall they tasted creamy and like toasted coconuts. However this new batch was different, they had a distinct skunk like after taste, that was noticeable by everyone.

What can I say? other than yummy! I mean is food and with that, there are many variables in taste preference. This is my first time ever trying these tubers and they are delicious. They are very delish and the horchata that comes out is super good and healthy for you. Would I recommend it? Yes. Could it improve? Yes. The price is the only issue I have with them. I will not be buying as frequently due to the high price of the tuber. Other than the price issue these tubers and from the seller are great! No problems there. They were very thoroughly washed. I still washed them to make sure but no dirt or anything coming out of them. The quality is very good. As is said, the only issue the price.

Read up on the great health benefits of tigernuts - they are so versatile! If you are eating whole tigernuts, be sure to soak them in water overnight to soften them. If you don't have all night, soak in boiling water for 1 hr. I use tigernuts to make milk, the same way any other nut milk is made. I also found recipes online to make crackers and granola out of the leftover pulp, so nothing goes to waste. I like the natural sweetness of tigernuts, and the texture of sliced tigernuts is something between oatmeal and shredded coconut.
