Already Impressed!!!
Just received my lovely book today & already I am impressed I will check-in in with more details as I go along into the meat & potatoes but OFF the bat:- The SIZE of the book:- Dr. Muata's books are great but their sizes are often on the cumbersome side {sorry Doctor} still love you much! This book was an Unexpected pleasant surprise @ a much more portable size of 7" x 10" (a typical Dr. Muata book is the very full 8.5" x 11" which is not much fun reading on a crowded train in the morning!- The breakdown:- I have been looking into & researching this Kybalion/Emerald Tablet treatise ever since I discovered it & if you are like me just not coming up with the answers to our questions. Like exactly who wrote this (the most proven & factual answer please)I think part of the “mystique” of this book is in keeping an air of mystery regarding where it came from or a real-time time frame etc. Scanning the book I see that Dr. Muata dedicates a section to all of this kind of thing so I am already loving the approach here.I can tell the Doctor is going to bring this into reality which personally I appreciate.- Lastly I think it is important & DOES help to hear historic perspectives from African-American or Black scholars on African/Black civilization. Now some may call this point “racist” but that really is utter nonsense due to the fact that what we have had for the most part is more of a Eurocentric version of ALL history for the most part especially here in the US!So for anyone European or African to make a point of reading/studying more diverse takes on history SHOULD be a way of actually getting at the very least a MORE well-rounded glimpse into history.I think people take for granted & don’t factor in or consider the reality that history for the most part as we generally know & accept it COULD very well be labeled “Eurocentric” but few would ever use that label as the idea is this brand of history is supposed to simply be known as THEE final word on history. Unfortunately there really is no final word on history if it to truly be taken to task BUT there can be again a more rounded viewpoint which made lead to deeper insights. So yes this book I am especially grateful for because it is from a voice that ethnically reflects the very peoples it speaks about and it is only fair and it is only in actuality a LESS biased due diligence for especially people of color. Now what is really poor etiquette is when more conventional scholarship is held as somehow “unchallengeable” or “gospel truth”& less conventional non Eurocentric scholarship is for that reason discounted as inaccurate or purely “Afrocentric” therefor invalid & voided. Again even if the scholarship WERE only “Afrocentric” this would only be a FAIR counterpart to our conventional scholarship which is mostly a “Eurocentric” construct & in effect ONLY offer a means to possible reach a more rounded “middle ground” of the two extremes. We must call a double standard out when it appears to provide a fair perspective on these issues.

If you are new to Hermetic teachings or wanted a simplified version of the Kybalion
If you are new to Hermetic teachings or wanted a simplified version of the Kybalion, this is your book. Dr. Ashby does a great job breaking things down to help you fully understand the hidden meanings behind the wisdom. If you are new to Muata Ashby, you will see a lot of references to ancient Egyptian teachings, which are also just as fun and interesting to research if you want more knowledge. As noted in another review, yes, there are some editing errors like misspelling or grammar errors but not too bad.

DEFINITELY A Hermetic primer...
I love this book, I have many works on Hermetics and Qabalah, none have explained the axioms in the kybolion in such as manner as this. I was so impressed with the teachings in this book I've purchased several other books from the author and am well pleased with the depth of philosophical and mystical teachings from the author. I only wish this book could be put I on kindle so I could carry it with me at all times to reflect on the teachings.
