Q: do you know how wide the center trim drain piece is?

The top is 3 1/2" for a standard kitchen sink hole. The only difference is there is no removeable basket.

Q: how long is the thread?

Its probably a couple inches long. The picture doesnt show it but there is a lower flange, a seal and a lock nut on the bottom to clamp it into the drain hole of a shower. Then there is the nut to hold a plumbing tail piece in place. It fit my mobile home walk- in shower perfectly.

Q: The 2.5” dia top strainer piece - is it a tight or loose drop-in (removeable)? Pry or twist? I need access to clean the drain below.

I don't remember.... I used it for a repair job on my 1991 32' Bayliner shower drain.....But, I have never had a problem with it beside a little rust forming on the bottom side that showed up ......I would say its tight snap in fit with ability to be removed ? What I a can say as a fact is it worked perfectly !! for my application and would by it again if I had to !! Could also be used as a deck scupper or floor drain.

This flat top strainer fits the standard drain size 3-1/2-inch to 4-inch; the size of the flange is 4-1/2-inch.
