tapered (NPT)? wrong description of standard I think.
I don't think the taper is correct on this nipple to thread correctly into pipe fittings. As long as it is a simple coupling, it will thread far enough in to seal with teflon tape, but it does not thread in as far as it should. And if you are trying to use it with something like a piece of flex that has a rubber gasket, it simply will not work because it does not thread in all the way. If you are not sure it will work, I strongly suggest you order the more expensive version which is fulfilled by Amazon with prime, because that way you can return it. I had bought the cheaper one, then realized that the shipping estimate had slipped beyond my needs, could not cancel that one, but still ordered the Amazon prime version. I could immediately return the Amazon fulfilled one, but after trying to work through a return with the supplier of the other one, I ended up having to file a claim (and sent the nipple back with the Amazon prime version). I ended up using a reducing bushing with a close nipple instead.

Incorrect thread. Not NPT !
Seller falsely advertise it as NPT fitting. It won't thread all the way into multiple female fittings. After 2 or 3 turns and it is stuck. The copper fitting in the image for comparison has correct thread.EDIT: as other reviewers point out, it is BSP. The 1" side thread is wider because BSP is 11TPI while NPT is 11.5TPI. The 3/4 side appears OK because both BSP and NPT have 14TPI but you will get leak problem due to thread shape difference.

Just as Advertised and It's Stainless Steel Too.
Well made and priced right. If you need a stainless steel fittings this is a good value. It does take some time to arrive as it think it comes from overseas. Other than having to wait a bit longer than the usual Amazon Prime two days (read 3 or 4 actual days) it's everything one should expect.

Defective, undersize threads.
Not to specifications. Threads were undersize and wouldn't seal. Returned as defective.

Beware
I bought 2 to complete a project. Both leak. Most likely out of round. I’d never buy these again.

Does Exactly What It's Supposed To
Reducer fit both my existing male pipe end and the female end of the pump just fine. Was a little wiggle room at the front, but tightened properly by the end. Great product!
