Cuisinox Salt/Pepper or Flax Seed Mill

I have read the directions twenty times, and I have tried over and over to get this to work - loosening, tightening, trying over and over again to figure out what I'm doing wrong. I bought based on positive reviews from others and am extremely disappointed. I was wanting to grind my own flax seed, but I give up. I have tried several times - over several days. It just doesn't work.

Absolutely love this grinder! I have used it to grind my own dried herbs as well as dried onion, with no issues at all so far. Will probably purchase another 1 or 2 for a matching set. Can certainly recommend!

I loved these grinders because the containers are made of glass instead of plastic, and they dispense from the top, so they're less messy. But after a year's light use, the pepper grinder broke in the manner described by previous reviewers. The grinder mechanism holder should be made of metal instead of fragile plastic. If the maker made that change in these grinders, they would likely last longer and then be a near perfect product.

Too bad it doesn't grind flax as advertised, but is nice for pepper. So now I have two pepper grinders.

I purchased both the white and black mills for salt and pepper. Even though the dimensions are posted online, i was still taken back by the size of these grinders. I almost think it may take us over a year to use the contents (though we aren't huge users of salt & pepper). I have to keep them on my kitchen table because they take up too much space in my cabinet.Size aside, these mills have been great for the month that we've had them. The grind can be adjusted to such a fine grind, it's amazing. And while it's totally different having the plastic lid covering the top, it can be handy to grind into the lid (just don't remove the lid before you start grinding), pop off the lid, and dump it into whatever you are cooking to keep the moisture from potentially getting in the grinder. Another thing I like is the flared top. There's enough coverage that almost no grinds get on your hand, which was a common aggravation to me with other grinders I've used. And finally, I'll say that the glass canister and ceramic grinder were what drew me to these grinders.For the price, they are great. Unless size is a major issue for your kitchen, I'd highly recommend them.
