More historic ballroom
The Victor Silvester Orchestra (VSO) was England's most important and most durable dance orchestra. They originated "strict tempo" dancing in the 1930s. Led by Victor for thirty-five years, Victor Jr. took over in the 1970s. They recorded almost everything worth recording, and so there will be no end to the remastering of their tracks. This is not a complaint, because it is wonderful stuff. This album has some of the old and somewhat scratchy sounding recordings from the 1930s and 1940s, and some of the better tracks from the 1950's and later. This is mostly quickstep and a fast foxtrot (44 pbm), and two waltzes. There is little crossover here with You're Dancing on my Heart, Marvellous, Strictly Ballroom (1993), Ballroom Dancing (1997), and You Danced These Bands. If you are just starting a VSO collection, go with either of the first two.

Five Stars
Music to which I learned to dance. Fond memories. Have waited a long time to replace a 10-inch LP
