Fitting and Pattern Alteration: A Multi-Method Approach to the Art of Style Selection, Fitting, and Alteration

This is a most comprehensive book detailing appropriate styles for different types of figure and showing various ways to alter patterns to fit. I wish I had had access to it years ago to avoid many sewing mistakes! It is expensive but I console myself with the thought that one very good pair of trousers would cost the same amount.

I considered this purchase for a long while as it is expensive. But, it has proved to be worth the money. The 'Get Ready' section gives huge amounts of info, that I will gradually get through. The 'Get Set' section has helped me to consider fitting styles. Of course, being impatient, I have jumped straight into the 'Go!' section about pattern fitting and pattern alteration. I love it! I'd love the similar version for men too.

This book is way over priced and really not very easy to understand. A lot of useless information such as 'to avoid your fit model fainting, lock your knees' also the diagrams are not obvious to the steps and have random key code...? It's really disappointing.. I wanted to like this book!
