JINIHFW Banana Hats,Bananas Preserver, Banana Hat to Keep Bananas Fresh,Pineapple

This was something I bought on a whim. It really is cute, and makes me smile. The inner silicone cup sits close to the stems and effectively seals them to keep the bananas from ripening too soon. I usually only buy a couple of bananas, and it's a little big for that, but still works ok.

My grocery store wraps the banana stems in plastic, to keep them from ripening too fast and to keep down the fruit flies, so I do understand the concept here.Unfortunately, this isn't really that well done. It will fit tightly on six bananas, which might work, but as soon as you take out a banana or two the cap will be loose, and the mold spores and fruit flies will get in (and it will be a damp environment, which they prefer).I can see this being useful for some other things, like maybe keeping scallion roots damp (though, still mold). But it's not really a win for the bananas.
