A great planter for patio gardens
This vertical planter is just perfect for patio gardens or greenhouses where you've used up all the floorspace. We've tested it out on our patio, where we planted a whole bunch of herbs in it. The planter is, for the most part, felt fabric, and quite thick. There is a plastic membrane on the back to prevent moisture buildup on whatever surface you mount it on, so you can water the front without worrying. This particular one has 6 pockets, so you can bed 6 different plants, independently, if you wish. The fabric also allows for great moisture controls, it won't allow too much sitting water so you won't have root rotting problems. When it does rain, the fabric can store moisture. However, you will need to keep up with the watering, no two ways about it.Overall, I like it and the plants like it. All the herbs took well to planters, when filled with potting soil.Pros:* Vertical mounting, with 7 different eyelets* Fabric design for water controls* Plastic membrane on the back* 6 pockets.Cons:* NoneI was given a sample in exchange for an honest opinion

What a great idea! ... nice and sturdy and the plants seem to stay hydrated longer.
I was talking to my wife about wanting to plant some herbs this year so we have available for cooking. Not only are the herbs at the grocery store a bit expensive but inevitably you don't use them all before they go bad. I want to pick what I need and I know they are organic as well. Then along came these planters. They look great and are functionally sound. I simply screwed some hooks into our wooden rail, hung the planters, filled with soil, and planted the herbs. I am very happy with these planters and highly recommend.Pros:- very sturdy construction (very thick material and good grommets)- 6 different (or same plants) in one planter- fabric maintains hydration better than standard pots- less root rot due to excessive water (as with standard pots)- great for apartments or decks- eco-friendly, recycled materialsCons:- none foundDurability / Construction - 10/10Functionality - 9/10Value - 9/10I hope you found this review helpful in making your purchase decision.Paul=============I received a discount on this item in exchange for an honest review. I use the full range of Amazon's rating system and getting something at a discounted price does not influence my rating. In my reviews I consider accuracy of product description by seller, product value, and how it compares to its competition (if available).

I personally like the concept for these but have yet to find the perfect plant for them. Difficult to water quickly as soil washes off and out if the top. I'm sure these work great for certain plants. I just don't know which ones. Quality of product is great. Strong material. I used zip ties to hang to deck and the grommets show no wear and neither does the fabric around them!

Got this planter for my 87-year-old mother so she could put her plants where she could reach them easily. She finds it very handy and I would think someone who is disabled like myself would find it helpful if you enjoy gardening and are incapacitated in any way.

Well made and is perfect for the application in mind
Exactly as advertised. Came with instructions and hardware for mounting on different surfaces and was waterproof backed. Well made and is perfect for the application in mind. Mix and matched with more than one color to make a show piece living wall. Would buy again.

Easy to hang
Easy to hang, we have it in our kitchen. It allows us to grow fresh herbs without our cats and dog making a mess of pots. Does not leak and it is quite sturdy. I'd recommend it

Simply Beautiful Plant Gardener
This six pocket vertical plant gardener is perfect for my home. Since I live in Brooklyn, New York and it is not very lush with plant life, I fill my home with as many plants as possible. This gardener makes it very simple to have lush plant life growing out of your walls. Below is a picture of the planter that hangs in my room right next to my window, the plants are thriving and I can't wait for them to become big and beautiful!UPDATE: I've added a new photo of my planters growth within a years time. I switched out some of the plants because of trial and error (like english ivy did not do well in this particular case because of how close my planter is to my window) otherwise, the plants are doing so well! so lush.

Nice idea, but: too dry, too wet, too much hassle, too many phone calls.
I tried this for several weeks and then threw it out.I wanted to like it: this is the only one I could find at a reasonable price that has the plastic liner over the entire back and bottom. (You NEED that if you're thinking of using one of these indoors; felt alone will get everything wet.) I liked the idea of roots getting air and pruning naturally upon reaching the felt. And the fact that this is lighter in weight than hanging a whole bunch of clay pots on your wall. Aesthetically it's just OK, but the idea was that it would look great once all the plants grew out to completely cover the felt. However, it didn't work out.1. If you're using organic soils, fertilizers, pesticides, etc., expect the felt to get mold on it just like any terracotta pot would. Yes, mold. Not just residue from salts (that too, though).2. Maybe it could work if you plant succulents/cacti on top, tropicals in the middle, and alocasias and colocasias on the bottom? Otherwise, expect the bottom row to rot and the top row to dry out entirely. It's possible you might be able to use looser mixes on the bottom and less-well-draining ones on top, but I didn't feel like risking the lives of a bunch of expensive plants to find out.3. Bottom plastic liner, although it's good at protecting your wall/floor/etc. is also a really nice home for gnats. Make sure you get a turkey baster to suck all the water out of there; it drains completely into that pocket over several hours and can overflow if you don't keep an eye on it.4. Like so many others reporting the same thing (on Invigorated Living's other products): I was called multiple times. While at work. Guys, if this many customers are complaining about phone calls, maybe take that as a hint to discontinue the behavior? Besides convenience, a major reason to shop online might be to avoid the hassle of being sold to/"helped"/followed by associates and hawkers, no matter how well-meaning. It also feels like a breach of privacy: my transaction was completed on Amazon, and I'd like to keep it here. There's no reason for you to ever use my personal information to contact me in any manner that isn't via Amazon's system.I ended up getting some nice, modern-looking plastic wall planters which look much nicer and keep the moisture in better without weird distribution and getting everything wet. Way less of a PITA in every way.

Just ordered 2 more for the other side of our patio. We haven't had them long enough to judge irrigation/water retention throughout the summer, but for the price, this product beats the rest and was exactly what we were looking for.
