MID-PRICE REISSUE OF THE CLASSIC 1972 ALBUM REMASTERED FROM THE ORIGINAL TAPES -CELEBRATING 50 YEARS OF THE ICONIC BRITISH ROCK BAND Growing out of the R&B boom of the early 60s, Family's sound evolved into a unique mix of blues, folk, jazz, psychedelia and high energy rock'n'roll built around the distinctive vocals of frontman Roger Chapman, Charlie Whitney's innovative guitar playing, and Rob Townsend's thunderous drumming. 'Bandstand' is the band's best known and most loved album. Moving towards a harder sound, yet still retaining some of the art-rock tendencies that made the band so unique. Containing the hit 'Burlesque' and the evocative 'My Friend The Sun', 'Bandstand' was the last album to feature John Wetton prior to his departure to King Crimson. This mid-price CD edition of 'Bandstand' is packaged in a digipack complete with a 4-page booklet plus four bonus demo tracks, celebrating 50 years since the release of Family's debut studio album, 'Music in a Doll's House'.

Old rocker review
I have all the 70's albums on vinyl, Anyway was the first album I pruchased as a young teenager after Eric Burdens "War". Not the grumpy old so and so I am now. But I found the album Mind Blowing and so purchased all the other released in their hayday. Hence my search to find a modern copy to save the 33 from the bin. I have to admit Anyway is my favourite but bandstand, old songs, new songs, well really all of them coming close. The constant fresh, exiting music that thrilled and opened new avenues in rock music. Innovative, different and well constructed music that has been with me for many years. At the time I'm sure the neighbours were relieved when I moved as I would constantly play this album, then Groundhogs, Led Zepplin and Pink Floyd. I had thought of picking each track apart next but the other reviewers have made good points. All I can add to these opinions is that if we have made you consider then have a listen to their well crafted enjoyable music and decide for yourself. I'm here now to purchase this album again. Chapman's vocals adds to the individualty of the talented musicians that make up Family. OK it's 70's music but still thrilling despite that. So much good music and so few hours to enjoy, so I'm off to listen to Anyway and Music In A Dolls House etc while I wait for a new copy of Bandstand to be delivered.

A fab' companion to the vinyl original
A top notch reissue of a classic album. Sits proudly alongside the original vinyl LP. The cover art pays homage to the cardboard LP sleeve
