Dexil Luxury Cat Harness Padded and Water Resistant (Red S-M)

We got the L/XL harness for our cat (measured 19” girth) and there is plenty of girth strap adjustment available (measured 16-23 inches). The harness works well while keeping the cat on a leash and has enabled us to take our curious cats out of the small apartment and into the great outdoors on a leash. Since the harness “does work” - I can’t fault it for that - however there are some issues to consider.This harness does not replace a neck collar and is removable. Unfortunately the harness collar opening cannot be adjusted and our cats can easily slip their heads out and escape. Perhaps if we used a snug collar on the cats as well and attached it to the harness via the metal rings - that would keep the harness securely attached and prevent escape - though I imagine it would be uncomfortable for the cats considering the design (have not tested it yet).Donning: Since the collar opening is so wide, this makes it is easy to slide over a cat’s head, then pull their right arm through the leg opening, then clip the girth buckle on their left side - being careful not to catch any of your cat’s hair in the buckle (this could be designed better to keep the hair out).Escape sequence: first the cat will get their paws or “arms” (front legs) up into the head portion of the harness (since it is so wide open and not adjustable), then push their head out into an “arm” opening. From there the cat can get both of their “arms” into this opening as well and now the harness is just around their girth/belly. They could possibly slide completely out of this as well as the “arm” openings are quite large, I imagine by using their hind legs to kick it off over their head.Also, the fuzzy inside collects a ton of hair and is nearly impossible to clean. The hair may come out in a wash, though a tape roller is useless since the hairs get stuck and embedded into the material and will not come out easily.

My cat, Brat, loves it every time I put it on he knows . He's going out. He can't wait. The old harness was a struggle. He didn't want to put it on. Now we go out and he eats grass and roams around for over an hour. Where before he didn't want to stay out more 10 to 15 minutes. Brat is all black so I also combine it wgith a small dog shirt so he doesn't over heat in the sun. He seems to love it. I would recommend it to all cat owners.

I started off giving treats as I put it on him. Lots of petting then took it off. I did this multiple times over several days. The cat learned quickly this was a good thing to put up with . :) In fact he didn't want it taken off knowing the treats stop. At this point we went outside. I used a long retractable type leash and sat on the picnic table. The cat loves being outside watching the birds and walking around. Others have posted their cat was able to get free by backing out of the harness. I haven't had that issue since he loved the harness before we ever went outside. I did not need to over tighten it.

Fits my 10-11 lbs cat perfectly! If you cat is big and fluffy like mine they will have a tough time getting out of this harness.

My large shorthair cat couldn't walk properly while wearing this harness. It impeded his shoulders and front legs. He kept putting his legs through the opening for the head in an attempt to make it work. He has walked with a harness in the past, so it wasn't a question of getting him used to the concept. I had high hopes for this one, but it didn't work for me.The materials and construction seem to be of good quality. Perhaps it will work for other cats.

Easy to put on - it only took a few minutes for my cat to get used to it. My cat and I were traveling by car, and I wanted something secure to put on him so that he didn't get frightened, pull out of his collar, and take off. This worked out perfectly!

Although my cat thinks the harness is kryptonite when I put it on him, I like it. He lays over on the floor and goes boneless while wearing it. It has a snug, comfortable fit and is secure. I have a skinny cat (the aforementioned) and a fattish cat and it adjusts for both. The later cat however enjoys going for walks outside with it on and if she tries to run it stops her without hurting her.

Tux did not have a problem with wearing it no problems getting put on. The strap is a little stiff just needs to be more flexable, we bent it a few times and worked with it. Now he can go for a ride on my walker in the Retirement home halls.

Well, not as good as we'd hoped for. Like other reviewers our cat was out of it in no time - twice! We were told to get a harness with a top and bottom strap as well as the two that go round the body. This met that criteria, however not all the straps have adjustment so the whole harnes can't be tightened sufficiently to keep the cat from wriggling out. My feeling is that if all straps were adjustable it would stop the problem.

I selected the large size due to my cat being pretty massive (he's 6.2kg, American Shorthair, and he's about 2 and a half foot long. He's large) and I was very happy with the quality - very padded, very soft. However, I did not like how it went on - you have to slip it over the cats head and grab a front leg and feet it through the leg hole. It fastens at the side. My cat does not like his ears being squashed and it took two of us to put it on him. When it was on (and I admit this is my fault for ordering the large) even on the smallest setting he could slip his head out and a foot. Even if I had gone for the size down I would have had the problem of not getting his head through.I would have re-ordered a different size if it was designed differently - put the legs through and fasten at the back. It would give more adjustment points and be less stressful for the cat.However, the returns system was really good! I had the label sent (pre-paid!), I took it to the Collect+ store and the next day I had received a full refund for the harness and the delivery cost. Very good company just sadly not for me and my cat.

This was purchased for a large stray cat, now moved in, for a vet visit and maybe walks round the garden.It has been most successful as Colin - the cat in question, does not mind it at all and cannot remove it himself. We managed the vet visit quite well. We were able to retrieve Colin from the windowsill when he thought he would make a break for the outside! It is strong and very well made IE the stitching strong.

The harness arrived quickly. At first, it was too big for our kitten, who slipped out of it easily. He's since become a massive fatty and now it seems to work great. However, we've yet to actually take him outside in it. We got as far as the stairs but he was more interested in trying to eat the lead. This is perhaps one of those impulse purchases that we may get round to using eventually. (This review is impartial and I haven't been offered any incentive by the seller).

I really like this harness, however it’s on the tightest setting and my cat can still get out.There is only one adjustable strap, around the belly, meaning the back bunches up, and my cat can get her front paws easily caught and get out.She doesn’t struggle while wearing, just as it is so loose, her paws come out frequentlyAdditional adjustable straps on the back and neck areas would fix these faults and I’d leave a 5 star review. Just the lack of adjustability has left me using another harness

Good quality, well made product that is easy to adjust, but even when fitted as tightly as possible, they wriggled out of it while trying to get them used to it within about 2 minutes of it being on. My cats are large weighing approx 5.6kg, but the medium harness was the correct size, and that was adjusted to quite a small setting on the straps. I will persist in short bursts trying to get them used to it, but certainly wouldn't let them outside in it yet.

Measured the cat (as best you can!) and ordered L-XL. Far too big for a fairly large adult male. Easy return with Amazon though. Replaced with a S-M which fits much better, but the cat was still able to slip out of the head loop when spooked. The tummy loop stayed on long enough to scoop him up and get him indoors, but not sure I would trust it enough to go too far from home. I think for maximum security you need both loops to be adjustable.

Brilliant product for my great big indoor cat! Good quality, well made and comfortable for my boy. Unfortunately I ordered XLarge and its a bit loose around the neck otherwise it fits fine as the tummy strap is adjustable. Easy to put on and my cat is happy to wear it as it means he can go outdoors and be safe. Would buy again.

This was billed as suitable for a small cat but even although I sewed it so that the neck opening was smaller, our very wriggly small cat managed to escape! I have subsequently binned the harness as I have little confidence in it. Having said that, it seemed reasonably well made and finished.

Yo compré 2. Talla S-M. Para un gato que pesa 3 kilos y para un gato que pesa 6kg. Y les va bien a ambos proque es ajustable. No se lo han podido sacar a pesar de intentarlo todo el rato. Al cabo de una hora o así se resignaron, peor supongo que cada vez que se lo ponga intentarán quitárselo. El arnés me parece de muy buena relación calidad-Precio porque no son 4 Tiras y ya. Está acolchado, bien rematado y bien cosido y acepta dos posiciones. He probado ambas y no se lo sacan. Asique recomiendo totalmente el producto.

It is too big for my tomcat, I think some straps on side could be useful to fit it to smaller animals. I simply sew the excess of the material on one side and it fits now better.

Great product but even though this states S/M it more medium but quality fantastic. The price for what you receive is great value but it will be too big for even tiny digs/cats so beware of that but product can't be faulted. All I wiould say to to company is mark this as medium even a large slender cat produce a smaller one rather than Small/ medium

True is it is made well if talking about quality of stitches. But design worth absolute zero as neck part can’t be adjusted that’s minus four stars, car easy wiggle out straps to thick for a cat I would say. No way I would recommend anyone

I found the neck/collar to be quite neat even though its elasticatedI would have been happier with some reflective material on it tooHowever it's a good strong and I assume comfortable harness
