How to use it?
All instructions are in Chinese. Not much use to me in UK as I only speak English!

Smaller than you might expect.
This toy came in very basic packaging that is not that attractive, if it is being given as a gift. But I suspect this might not be the retail packaging that may come later, so I will review it as if it had immediate attraction to youngsters, instead of being in a rather battered mainly white box.You will need 3 X AAA batteries to get it going, and a small screwdriver to remove the rather fiddly battery compartment. It would have been nice if it had worked out of the box, so perhaps install the batteries before showing it to the child. The best way to see what it does, is to watch the short video on the product page. It does come with a pretty good instruction leaflet though, with the usual slightly odd translations from what I am guessing is Chinese. But it is entertaining, and has lots of features, hence my four stars. It is voice activated, and has controls that can be touched too. It will repeat things spoken to it with a recording function, and changes to a squeaky 'robotic voice' to reply. It plays music, and sings songs. It also 'dances', by twisting around on its wheels. The small size is actually a bonus, as it fits well into young hands, and requires no space for storage. I think a child of 4-5 years of age is going to really like this, and it will take some time for the novelty to wear off.

Great fun for kids
I'm not sure how long the novelty would last, with adults it's not all that long, but for young kids, I suspect this robot could become their lil' buddy for a while! So, this is a toy robot which understands a limited vocabulary of spoken commands. You can also record your own stuff and have it played out in response to a command. You can say things like "turn left" or "turn right" or "Go back" and so on, and it will! Thought not always in a straight line. You can tell it you love it and comes over suitably coy for a while. Ask it to dance, and it will do a little jig while making a lot of noise. Tell it "Play music" and....well, you get the idea.A neat little toy with about 15 commands and a lot of play value for kids under 7-8 - also impresses adults who haven't quite clocked yet that voice control is here and now. Mostly gets commands right, and has a cute "personality". Takes 3 AAA (note, that's TRIPLE A) batteries which are not supplied; you also need a small crosshead screwdriver to get into the battery compartment wherein you need to grab a small handle to pull out the battery draw - probably child-proof, but not exactly straightforward. With its flashing lights and cute sounds and wheeled motion and being a good listener kids within a certain age range will adore this little fellow - glad I had a play, but will now hand this on to someone of appropriate age.

Limited play, often doesn't respond to commands, goes off on its own.
I ordered this for review to give to my 4 year old nephew. It is a little smaller than I expected from the images of the little boy holding it, either the toy looks bigger or the boy has tiny hands, but it is smaller than I thought. It requires 3 AAA batteries (which are not included) to work. You also need a small cross head screw driver to open the battery compartment. The robot comes with an instruction sheet and once you turn it on, it starts to make silly sounds. The instruction sheet gives you basic commands to say to the robot to which it should respond. Like TURN LEFT, TURN RIGHT, DANCE, MUSIC and so on. I found some of the time the robot was too busy making silly noises, that it did not always respond to command, or it would just roll backwards or forwards. Occasionally it topples over if it over balances too.My sons when listening to the music it was playing, while my nephew played with it, recognised it as a tune from OMFG called 'Hello'.Overall, it will probably keep a child occupied for a little while, but they might get frustrated with having to repeat instructions when it doesn't respond, or goes off on it's own and it has limited options for play to be honest.I'm not sure what the price of this is, as at time of review it was currently unavailable, but I would say it wasn't worth more than £20 at most.

I was disappointed
Ok, I’m not saying this is a bad toy, but it’s not a great one either. The box could be better but I assume the final product will be much better. The robot is small enough for tiny hands so 3-5 year olds (I assume this is the age group) would like this. The reason I didn’t give it more than 3 stars is for more than one reason:* The robot would not respond to all the instructions and I found myself having to turn it off and on again to stop it going through it’s complete music and dance repertoire which seemed to be what it does if it doesn’t understand the command* It would not respond at all to “I love you”* It says in the instructions that it will turn left or turn right but mine would only do an about turn* It’s a little top heavy and if it hits anything that tipsit slightly off it’s access it topples over.It may well be that I had an iffy one to evaluate, and, had it been working properly, I would have given it a 4 star or higher rating

Cute, but little ones might lack patience with it
It's quite a cute looking little robot, which is aimed at younger children - probably 4-6 year olds I would guess. Out of the (basic-looking) box you get some basic instructions, but basically you just need to insert some batteries (you will need a screwdriver and batteries - be warned) and then give it some instructions and of it goes. Well it does within reason. Sometimes you give an instruction and the robot doesn't appear to register it - maybe it doesn't like too many instructions at once, but the problem with that is, that young children get excited and don't know how to pace themselves/keep calm as well as an adult or an older child might. Tricky given the apparent target market. It turns, plays music, spins - lots to watch and interact with - but it is a little limited, so children will eventually tire of it.
