Winter Project...
I usually buy a few knife blanks in the fall to have something to do when the snow gets to deep for winter camping (I'm getting older).For the price I wasn't expecting much but I did have hope because of the other reviews.... Well, this time it paid off.This is an excellent "Damascus" blank that the metal grain runs well in and that the company took the time to give a smooth finish to... I bought two other blanks from another company that were higher in price but I would call crude at best. On one blank the grain or pattern of the metal runs almost totally vertical from the blade edge to the spine. This could lead to the blade snapping off of the knife is stuck in something and wiggled side to side.On both other blanks the finish I will call it is rough at best.. I consider the finish rough when I run my thumbnail over the blank and it jerks and stops... I know that "Damascus" blades will do that a little bit but this was VERY noticeable.I did check the hardness of the metal the old fashioned way by running a file across a spot on the edge of a spot on the handle and I am happy with the results.. I will know more next spring when I carry and use the blade while camping and fishing.Anyway----------This blank is well made and a steal at under 30 dollars.. I will be buying a couple of more blanks from this company to replace the subpar blanks that I received from that other company.

A beautiful knife but....
Is a beautiful knife, came in a cardboard sleeve in another box with other blade/ blade material i bought. No damage at all to the box, however, this blade was bent atleast 1/8 or more from the middle to the tip. Will try to straighten it so will see what happens. Kinda disappointed. Was really looking forward to adding scales and pins so i can slowly get into this knife making

Was very impressed with the packaging that it was very well oiled and very sharp the tip was very protected too. Love the design and was very very happy with the blade. Hope. To do it justice with the correct finger guard and and handle. This has upped my first knife making. Very inspiring

Beautiful blade! Great size. Sits in the hand quite nicely. Did a spark test and it’s true, high carbon Damascus.
