That's when I found Reuzel Extreme Hold Matte Pomade.I saw "Extreme Hold" and "Matte" and thought, "Is this the architectural adhesive my hair has been craving? Will it finally stay put?" When this little tin arrived, it looked like something a classic barber would use. Simple, sturdy, with a cool pig logo (Reuzel means lard in Dutch, apparently – a fun, if slightly unsettling, fact). The pomade inside is a solid white wax.Using it is straightforward. Scoop a little out, warm it up in your hands, and apply. It goes in smoothly, no tugging or pulling. And the hold! My hair immediately stood to attention. It was like I'd built a tiny, flexible skyscraper on my head. It stayed exactly where I put it, defying gravity and the occasional gust of wind. This stuff is not messing around.The "Matte" finish is perfect – no greasy shine, just a natural look that says, "Yes, my hair is perfectly styled, and no, I didn't use half a can of product." It looks effortless, even though I know the Reuzel is working hard behind the scenes, acting as the silent architect of my hairstyle.And the scent! It's described as a subtle sweet rum fragrance, and it's delightful. Not overpowering, just a hint of something pleasant that makes you feel slightly more dapper. Purchased the small 1.3oz one for testing to replace AC Fiber. Wanted something healthier for my hair as I get older and my hair gets thinner.Starting off with the scent. I was skeptical, but it smells great to me. Kinda like a Pina Colada but it's not overbearing or offensive.The texture of the pomade is nice and has a fairly thick consistency. More liquid than AC Fiber and not as chunky by just a smidge. Warms in your hands quickly for application and applies very nice and equal everywhere needed.Will report back over the coming week or so on overall performance, as I bought another Japanese pomade to compare with.

This stuff gives me the look I want. I have about 5 inch long hair and pair this with another styling fiber, but I could use this alone if needed. I use this to polish off and lock in volume. It leaves a matte finish. I'm an active person and this keeps my hair in place as long as it doesn't get completely wet.

I have fairly fine/thinning hair and my first impressions of this was it's okay, but not great. I'm really not sure about the "extreme" hold of it. I was expecting something to really hold my hair in place and so far this just doesn't do that. It has more of a creamy/waxy texture to it and I guess I was expecting something more like a hair clay that I normally use. This also reminds me a lot of the Victory Super-Dry that I sometimes use. Both have the same consistency and work about the same on my hair ... they work okay, but just don't hold as well as I was hoping.

I've used this pomade before, and I like it. I have to wear a hat at work all day. When I get home, and take my hat off, my hair still is neat like I haven't had a hat on. The longevity is all day long. I washed my hair, and my hair is like it was this morning before I used it. I love the scent of this product. For being a travel size, it's worth the money I paid for it.

Love this product but just like several others who left reviews, I’m disappointed in the quality of the tin. It’s beat to death and I worry the product may dry out as a result.

Ive been looking for a matte pomade with a strong hold. For the longest i used suavecito’s matte pomade and tried out of regz. Suavecito was okay and out of regz had much better hold but smelled awful. After many reviews i gave reuzel extreme hold a try. And let me tell you its the best matte pomade for an extreme hold. I have very wavy umanageable hair and prefer a short textured/slick back style which with most matte pomades im unable to achieve. This stuff goes on great, smells good and not over the top and holds STRONG all day with a low shine. This Is officially my go to pomade from here on out
