30 Pages of Mixed Designs Featuring Animals, Birds, Insects and Aquatic Life
I have wanted to get an Adult coloring book for quite some time now. Ever since I was as a child, I have always enjoyed coloring and I never out grew enjoying the activity. I used to color with children that I babysat for when I was a teen. Then, I used to color with my children when they were young. Next, I would color with my Grandchildren, and while they are still young enough to enjoy coloring, I don’t get to see them all that often in order to get to enjoy coloring with them.Over the years, I have bought myself some coloring books, coloring pencils and some crayons, just so I could enjoy the relaxing activity of coloring. I would try to pick coloring books that were not as childish as most of the others, but until recently, there wasn’t really much to choose from in the coloring book genre that wasn’t geared towards children.I am an animal lover, so I chose this coloring book of animal designs. This book contains 30 pages of mixed designs featuring animals, birds, insects and aquatic life. Each page is printed on just one side, so you can use marker or paint and not worry about it bleeding through and messing up the next design. Being printed on just one side also allows you to remove pages from the book should you want to display them or give them away.I have only started on picture so far, but I can already tell that this book will provide me hours of relaxing entertainment! I purchased this item at the regular price at which it was offered for personal use. I did NOT receive any type of promotional discount in exchange for this review. All statements made in this review in regard to this product, represent my own genuine and honest opinions.

Coloring book you should buy
Full of beautiful pictures.... Each page is full of detail, and fun to color.... Love this brand so many different kinds of books tho choose from. I looked over all kinds of reviews before making a purchase, I looked over lots of the pictures posted as well. Very impressed with them. Have only colored a few pictures, but a great way to pass time. I would recommend for anyone who may be recovering from a surgery like myself. I also purchased staedtler triplus fineliner 0.3 mm 36 pack which included the neon colors, I would recommend them. Love them i may try and find some a little bigger. But these are great for small details. Ialso purchased a pack of Lolliz gel pens 48 pack, tip range from 0.6 to 1.0. I DO NOT recommend them for the following reason they take a while to dry, i have smeared multiple places on the pages. Not fun tho cover up. I plan on returning the Lolliz gel pens. I will try again with a different brand for now i will use the 16 pack I bought at Wal-Mart. I also made a page protector out of a placemat from the dollar store. A child's plastic one, cut it in half, rounded the coners. I place it behind the page I'm Coloring as a precaution, it also helps with keeping my place in the book. They may make something like this but it only cost a dollar and it works so well. Just make sure it's smooth or when you use color pencils it will leave a texture. Plus at times I push hard on the page this stops it from denting or leaving an impression on the next page. I hope sharing my experience, thoughts and ideas help you. Reading other peoples reviews is what helped me making a decision on my purchases.

Fun and inexpensive coloring experience
I throroughly enjoy coloring in the Dove Coloring Books. They all have fantastic and original pictures so in choosing one over another it is a completely individual choice. I have not been disappointed in any of them and I have bought six so far. The "Animal Designs" are one of my favorites and if you want to frame them later for a child's room they would be perfect. It may seem silly for an adult to enjoy coloring but for me it is an alternative to basic meditation. It allows my mind to relax and leave the problems of daily life behind. It is similar to the Mandalas that the monks create in sand as a meditative practice. The only problem is that if you use colored markers they will leak through to the picture on the other side but for the price I would get two copies and alternate choices. I would also recommend, if using colored marker, to but a piece of cardboard behind the page your working on so as not to ruin a second illustration.

Fun
I finally decided to dive in and find out what the hype was about regarding adult coloring books. I initially was not very interested in something that was not my own creation. However, I finally let my curiosity win and purchased a couple books. This Art Nouveau Animal Designs coloring book by Dover is very nice. It has a good mix of detailed pictures and simple pictures. The paper stock is decent enough, and each page has a perforation near the spine so that individual pictures can be removed. I prefer to remove the pages before I begin to work on them, but I do know people who prefer to keep them all in the original book.I have used gel pens, colored pencils, and water colors on these pages. The paper works well with all 3 of those mediums, but my favorite is to use a combination of nicer quality colored pencils and watercolors. A nice set of watercolor pencils would also work quite well. I do like the art nouveau style, and it is fun to work with all the detail. While I don’t think I will frame and hang the completed pieces, I do find it satisfying to mindlessly sit and work through the pages. I will finish both of the books I purchased, and I might buy more.I purchased this book at full price as a personal purchase, and a review was not required.
